The Tower

I think The Tower is starting to get the best of me.

Stay tuned for the theatrical trailer coming in the next week or so.

Underbody prepped and ready...

Here are a few more photos. The work is progressing. Next step is to reinstall the body on the chassis and install the electrical. We've still got a way to go, but heading the right direction, finally.

Making progress

It may not look like much, but here are a few photos of the engine compartment of the vette. It's being sanded and prepped before painting and reinstallation on the chassis. I hope to go visit her next weekend. Yay!

Let the restoration commence!

After many years, the completion of the restoration of my Dad's Corvette has finally begun - again. The pictures below are from last week at the Hot Rod Hotel, where the car has enjoyed a nice long visit. The holiday is over and it's time to get back on the road.

More on this as it evolves.

Perspective

We were shooting an elevator control room in a new building in the 57th floor above times square. It sort of forces a new perspective on the world. I felt bad for the grips who had to carry the dolly up the last three flights where the elevator didn't go.

After the storm

Here's what subway stops in queens look like after snowpocalypse 2. I was asked to come out to set because there was snow in the background that wasn't there in the previous moment, shot before the storm. By the time I got to the set after my driver getting stuck in the snow, they figured out how to mask the snow without my help. I'm heading home now.

The calm before the storm

As I sit in my living of our new apartment and watch the snow turn to sleet, I found myself thinking about last night: At the beginning of what promised to be a long night of shooting I set up the camera to take some reference photos for the film I'm working on. I got the references I needed, and then I was captivated by this view.

New York city does such a great job of lighting their monuments and features. There are so many great points of view in this city. I hope you like this one.

Father's Day

I had the greatest Father's Day, only my second one.

It was a steamy hot day in NY, and we took Dylan to Central Park for a picnic with our cousins Sam, Randy and Ari. We went to the Central Park Zoo where Dylan said "Hi, dog" to anything with fur, "Hi, duck" to anything with feathers and just "Hi" to anything else. She was such a trooper in the mind numbing heat.

If that wasn't enough torture for one little tiny person who didn't want to take an afternoon nap, I took her out to Brooklyn Bridge Park for an hour or so. She amazed me with this little performance:

Hiatus

I was asked to take a brief hiatus from The Adjustment Bureau (the project I'm on right now).

Just a week or more if the scheudle would allow. Beth and I decided to have a little stay-cation. We've been dropping Dylan off at day care and enjoying a few quiet and lazy days together.

I've discovered the one day work week. It rules!

Every week should be like this.
